No Fortune for City

City look likely to miss out on Marc Antoine Fortune after his agent confirmed he will probably join Celtic in the next few days.

It will come as a disappointment to Tigers boss Phil Brown after seemingly already having the deal tied up, only for Celtic to hijack the deal.

Fortunes agent, Michael Manuello said: "There are some discussions to be finished but if things are normal he will sign for Celtic."

A bid of around £3.5 million was agreed as were personal terms, but it is thought the lure of working with former boss Mowbray was the deciding factor in Fortune`s move to Scotland. But it won`t come as a surprise to many city fans, after the lack of progress on the deal led to concerns that he wasn`t going to join the Tigers.

So after having a shortlist of six strikers, Brown and Duffen are down to four after Michael Owen and Fortune have both snubbed the Tigers. Bobby Zamora looks to be one of the remaining four and is thought to be Phil Brown`s back up to Fortune, with a figure in the region of £4 million being enough to make Fulham let him go; although any deal would first and possibly more importantly rely on another striker appearing at Craven Cottage.

Have to say I'm happy this lad has decided for Celtic. No disrespect to Hull, but to easy for a lot of players to go for the cash than actually wanting to play for a club! If he's signed, welcome to paradise Marc!! Good luck to Hull hope yes get someone in soon! Big fan of Phil Brown!
