Dawson & Gardner doubts for Saturday

Andy Dawson and Anthony Gardner have not trained this week ahead of Saturday`s fixture with Blackburn Rovers according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Gardner, who has a history of injury problems, has a strict training programme similar to that of Tottenham captain Ledley King, with the centre-back training infrequently but still managing to play 90 minutes each week. It has proved successful, with the defender enjoying his longest run in the side since joining in the summer of 2008.

Dawson`s omission is as a result of a thigh strain picked up from the 3-0 defeat at Villa Park last week, meaning Kevin Kilbane could be reintroduced to the side at left-back. Steven Mouyokolo is poised to replace Gardner at centre-back should the defender not recover from a knock to the knee.

Both players will undergo late fitness tests before Saturday`s fixture to determine whether they can play.

Could do without too many changes esp as Mouyokolo hasn't played first team this season, although Killer is more than capable in defence. And if Gardner isn't fit, I'd have selected Cooper.
