'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Preview: Birmingham -Vs- City

Hull City head to Birmingham tonight as third meets sixth in the Championship.

The fixture will be eclipsed by the meeting of the league's top two at Upton Park, but City know a win could move them into third above this evening's rivals, while an untimely defeat could see City drop to ninth should results go against them.

City will arrive in Birmingham without any injury worries following a comfortable 3-0 win over Bristol City at the weekend. Birmingham's match at Barnsley was postponed, meaning their last outing came a week ago when they defeated Portsmouth 1-0.

The match sees the two tightest defences meet, with City edging Birmingham by virtue of conceding two fewer goals.

Birmingham's attach has been affected in recent weeks through injuries to Zigic and former Hull striker Marlon King. Both will be assessed before this evening's game. Midfielder Guirane N'Daw is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

The meeting between the two sides earlier this season resulted in a 2-1 win for The Tigers, despite falling behind to a Chris Wood opener. Wood has since left Birmingham, who were foiled in December by second half goals from Robert Koren and Aaron Mclean, the winner coming via an untimely lapse from former City goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.

Vital Hull Prediction: Birmingham 1 - 1 City
