Hull City today confirmed the signing of German striker Nick Proschwitz.
The 6ft 3in striker joined Steve Bruce`s side from SC Paderborn 07 for a fee of £2.6 million, City`s highest transfer fee paid outside of the Premier League.
The in demand striker, who turned down offers from Germany`s top division, opted to join Steve Bruce`s side after passing a medical on Wednesday. The striker will add a new dimension to City`s forward line by providing a physical presence and arrives after scoring 17 goals in 33 appearances last season.
Proschwitz will add competition to City`s striking options, with Matty Fryatt, Aaron Mclean and Jay Simpson likely to provide competition. The striker is expected to feature in tomorrow`s pre-season friendly against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
In other transfer news, Abdoulaye Faye is expected to sign with the club in the next 24 hours after being offered a one year contract following his release from West Ham United.
