Cup Preview: Hull City -vs- Rotherham United
Hull City will kick-off the 2012/13 season with a Capital One Cup fixture against Rotherham United at the KC Stadium.
In a change of scheduling for this season, Saturday`s fixture against League 2 Rotherham United will serve as the curtain raised ahead of the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion in a week`s time. The fixture will be Steve Bruce`s first in charge of The Tigers in a competitive fixture and will look to avoid the lowly cup exits which were experienced against Macclesfield Town and Crawley Town last season.
Bruce`s first competitive fixture is made harder by the absence of Sone Aluko and Eldin Jakupovic who are both unavailable as registrations from previous clubs are still pending. In addition, Corry Evans, Jack Hobbs and Andy Dawson will be unavailable for selection
Nicky Hunt and Dale Tonge are unavailable for Steve Evans, who will look to do what he did with League 2 Crawley when, under his management, the Tigers were knocked out of last season`s FA Cup 4th round.
The referee will be Darren Sheldrake. Last season, in 32 fixtures, Sheldrake issued 89 yellow cards and 11 red cards.
