On transfer deadline day, Hull City did some unexpected business while one first-team regular of last season has been sent out on loan.
The Tigers spent a reported £300,000 to £400,000 to bring Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn to the KC Stadium. The 26 year old has signed a three year deal with City and will be eligible to play against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
Irishman Quinn has spent seven seasons at Bramall Lane, scoring 20 goals in 206 appearances.
City meanwhile unexpectedly sent winger Cameron Stewart out on loan to rivals Burnley, the former Manchester United youngster signing until the end of 2012. Stewart has failed to impress Bruce since becoming manager and after defeat to Doncaster Rovers and the arrival of Elmohamady, has found himself surplus to requirements.
Although the transfer window remains open for just under two hours, City are not expected to conduct any further transfer business, although loan deals are almost certain when the loan window opens in seven days time.
