Preview: Huddersfield Town -Vs- Hull City

Hull City travel to Huddersfield today, the match overshadowed by the actions of West Yorkshire Police in the build-up to the fixture.

As a result, only 400 City supporters will travel to the match officially, whilst many more will join Huddersfield fans in the town centre to watch and support the team following a mid-afternoon protest march against the restrictions which have been imposed.

The importance of the match has been highlighted following a surprising defeat for Crystal Palace against Birmingham City, whilst Burnley did their part by scoring a stoppage time equaliser at Watford. As a result, City could move four points clear of second place, before Watford arrive at the KC on Tuesday night. Having failed to take advantage of results a fortnight ago, City cannot allow to pass up the same opportunity.

Paul McShane will not feature again this season due to injury and will be replaced with Abdoulaye Faye or Alex Bruce, the latter having been sent off when the two sides met earlier this season. Elsewhere, City have no new injury concerns, although Bruce will be cautious about a possible suspension to David Meyler who currently sits on nine yellow cards.

Huddersfield welcome new loan signings Jermaine Beckford and Theo Robinson. Keith Southern remains a long term absentee.

Earlier in the season, Hull City were 2-0 winners against Huddersfield thanks to goals from Robert Koren and David Meyler.
