Proschwitz keen to make Premier League mark

Proschwitz keen to make Premier League mark

German striker Nick Proschwitz is keen to make an impact next season having realised his dream of playing in the Premier League.

Signed by Steve Bruce for £2.6 million from German second division side SC Paderborn, the high profile acquisition started just 5 games of twenty-seven he featured in, netting just three times in the league. Whilst two of those goals came against Ipswich Town at the KC Stadium, Proschwitz`s final goal was the equaliser against Cardiff City on the final day of the season, a turning point in the game that helped City win promotion.

Unfortunately, Proschwitz`s role that day is more remembered for his 93rd minute penalty miss that nearly cost City promotion, although eventually it was insignificant following Leeds` win over Watford.

The highlight of Proschwitz`s season was his goal at Leyton Orient in an FA Cup 3rd round replay, an effort that would eventually win the striker the goal of the season award.

With City looking to offload Aaron Mclean and having agreed to release Jay Simpson, Proschwitz will be looking to make his mark in the Premier League in order to justify his so far extravagant price tag.
