Hull Play Hard Ball With Stoke Over Tymon

Hull Play Hard Ball With Stoke Over Tymon

Hull City have indicated that they will not make Josh Tymon's proposed move to Stoke City an easy affair.

With plenty of speculation around Tymon and a move to Stoke this summer, the Hull Daily Mail reported yesterday that Hull were attempting to block the move despite the Academy graduate being out of contract and despite Stoke's confidence that they would be the club that signed him to his first professional contract.

In fact it's reported that Stoke believe they have in fact secured the 18 year old with the terms offered.

A statement released by Hull as carried by the outlet reads.

'We would like to place on record that we have not accepted an offer for Josh Tymon, who has 12 months remaining on his contract. The club exercised our option to extend his contract back in December 2016, to expire in the summer of 2018.'

The confusion in this comes from the fact that Tymon is not a registered professional at Hull City so there are doubts that we can extend his scholarship in effect for a further 12 months and Stoke and Tymon's representatives effectively believe he is now a free agent after turning down two contract offers over the last 12 months.

Hull are adamant however that they held a 12 month extension in their hands and that they have exercised that option prior to last Christmas to tie the youngster down until 2018.

Whilst this plays out, we are without question entitled to a tribunal and training compensation for him but this is looking increasingly messy.
