No Championship Hesitation For Aina

No Championship Hesitation For Aina

Ola Aina has seen a number of his teammates enjoyed success away from Chelsea in loan capacities and didn't have any doubts about following in their footsteps when coming to Hull this week.

In fact dropping down from the Premier League in order to get regular football in the Championship wasn't an issue for him.

The Chelsea contingent who head out on loan keep in close contact and Aina told the Official Website he sought the advice of Tammy Abraham, who had much success at this level last season, with the former Bristol City loanee selling the benefits.

'We all support each other and we all hope for good seasons for each other. Seeing my good friend Tammy doing so well in the Championship last season is something that motivates me to do the same this season here at Hull. I've spoken to him about the benefits a loan move can have and he always talks now about the confidence that last season has given him. It was equally as good for his football and he says it has made him into a man really by moving away from home and living by himself. He's given me plenty of advice and I can't wait to get started.'

Last season Aina was able to make his Premier League debut as part of the Chelsea squad that won the title. It goes without saying this was a great experience for the left back.

'Last season was really good for me and being part of the squad that won the title was fantastic. Making my debut was an exciting thing and then getting a few more appearances on top of that was good.'

But that's been and gone and Aina is now focused on the here and now, making the most of this loan opportunity at the KCOM Stadium.

'However, last season has gone now and I'm just ready to focus on this season with Hull and the new challenge that I now have. This is a big move for me - my first loan away from Chelsea - and it's all going to be a new experience for me.'

Aina went on to say he's feeling a good about this forthcoming season at Hull and is confident that a 'really good squad' can do well and Leonid Slutsky can get City 'back up to the Premier League'.

Adding: 'The vibe that I got from him was really good and I just want to hit the ground running now.'
