Campbell Credits Team Performance

Campbell Credits Team Performance

Striker Fraizer Campbell has credited the overall team performance from Hull City as we took a comfortable victory over Birmingham City this weekend.

Hosting the side at the KCOM Stadium, Hull took a six one victory with goals from Campbell hiself, David Meyler, Jarrod Bowen, Kamil Grosicki, Markus Henriksen and Seb Larsson, and having opened the scoring he was delighted to keep his own recent form going as he hits two in three, but he was extremely quick to talk about the overall team performance as everyone pulled together and clicked in the game.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media following the confidence boosting win, Campbell explained.

'To a man - we were brilliant from the very first second of the game right up until the final whistle. Obviously it was disappointing to concede right at the end and lose out on the clean sheet, but that doesn`t detract from what was a great team performance.'

Campbell went on to say that the aim ahead of the game had been to give the fans a reaction but also for the players to show themselves they could give a reaction, but a six one win wasn't what many expected.

'We knew that we needed a reaction after the manner in which we lost the previous game against Preston and it was great to get the win that we all wanted so badly. We came out the blocks quickly, went after them and got three goals in the opening 26 minutes, which were thoroughly deserved for the way we started the game. That gave us the confidence to kick on and it was pleasing to see that we didn`t just settle for the win in the second half. We showed great hunger and desire. We wanted to score more goals and we did.'

Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

'It`s been a frustrating time of late, so it was nice to blow a team out of the water and end our winless run in such convincing fashion.'
