Instant Reactions - Hull v Barnsley (27/2/18)

Following today's clash between Hull City and Barnsley, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Hull City hosted Barnsley at the KCOM Stadium for a 7.45pm kick off on Tuesday February 27, with both sides playing out a one all draw.

Oliver McBurnie opened the scoring for the visitors in the 22nd minute, but Hull battled back to secure a point through Craig Dawson in the 73rd minute of the tie.

Hull will be more aggrieved at the result as they dominated possession and chances on the day.

McGregor, Aina, Dawson, MacDonald, Clark, Larsson, Irvine, Bowen, Toral (Keane 45+8), Diomande (Grosicki 62), Dicko (Campbell 70).

Hector, Marshall, Tomori, Stewart.

Townsend, Cavare, Jackson (Pearson 45+8), Lindsay, Pinillos, Gardner, Williams, Potts, Thiam (Yiadom 62), Moore, McBurnie (Moncur 78).

Davies, Bradshaw, Mallan, Mahoney.

Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Mike Jones blew the final whistle, Hull City head coach Nigel Adkins explained.

'We were looking for all three points. We didn't reach the heights we reached on Friday in the first half. We've gifted them a goal and they've had something to hang onto. They've put everyone behind the ball and it's up to us to break them down. We've had enough opportunities in and around the box - we've had 17 shots on goal - but it was captain Dawson who's scored the all-important goal.'

Barnsley head coach Jose Morais in his comparative interview explained.

'We came for three points. We played a very good first half and were unlucky to lose one of our central defenders. For that reason we did a substitution we didn't want to so early. But we kept good balance. In the first half we created a lot of chances. We had a lot of good situations to score. It was a fantastic goal and a creative situation that gave us the lead in the game and for that reason we really deserved our advantage.'
