Hull City are hoping that talks over the next 48 hours with in demand midfielder Robert Koren will finally end interest from Championship rivals Leicester City

This is "Mailspeak"!
No Club has shown an interest in Robert Koren. With respect to Robert, at 31 years of age there are much better options for EPL Clubs than him. Leicester has made no offers for Robert whatsoever and if they were genuinely interested 500,000 quid would be peanuts to them and he would have been gone by now.
I believe that Robert himself prefers centre-midfield so I would imagine that Steve Bruce will give him his wish with Aluko and Stewart on the wings. With the players he has brought in it sounds like a 'two-prong' attack up front instead of the stupid 'lone-striker' tactic in which Matty Fryatt is totally out of his depth.
The priority this coming season will surely be "Goals, goals and more goals" but I would have personally liked to have seen some more solid 'first team' work-outs against some stronger opposition but this Management seems to know where it is going.
