Vital Report - Hull 1-0 Swansea
Hull's Capital One Cup run goes on after a win at the KC Stadium against Swansea on Tuesday.
A place in the fourth round, which we now know will see Hull at the KC Stadium again with another Premier League side Leicester visiting, was secured thanks to a first half goal from Meyler in a one-nil win!
The main news, pre-match, was the possible return of England international Livermore, who had been suspended by the club since May. This came, with him given a great reception and an even better one when Bruce decided 69-minutes was enough for him, and he came off.
Swansea made no fewer than 10 changes from the side that had drawn with Everton but it didn't make too much difference with the Swans having plenty of first half chances with Grimes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Routledge, more than once, all made to pay for the wastefulness shown!
With half time approaching Hull took the lead as Maloney's header was shovelled to Meyler (41) by the Swansea 'keeper and he couldn't really miss from close range to have the Tigers ahead at the break.
The second half was seen out, however Bartley almost forced extra time late on for Swansea but his effort hit the post and it was Hull that celebrated a place in round four!
It's not too often we make it this far in the League Cup, can we make it into the last eight too?
Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most in this win?
