Parkin Stunner Goal Of The Month

Parkin Stunner Goal Of The Month
Jon Parkin's second goal against local rivals Sheffield Wednesday was voted by the readers of Vital Hull as the best goal scored by a Tigers player in September.

The strike came soon after he had netted an equaliser early in the first half before his stunning strike on the turn meant the club a valuable first, and only, home win so far this season.

Parkin has been in good goal-scoring form this season, netting five times meaning he is only two goals behind last season's overall top scorer who was Stuart Elliott with seven goals. However, Parkin does seem to be saving his goals for the KC Stadium, with all five coming in home fixtures.

In second place came Michael Bridges stunner against Leicester City. In a match that City were on the back-foot for most of, a long kick by Myhill was superbly controlled by Bridges before the ball was shifted to his weaker left foot and dispatched to the top corner of the Leicester City net.

The goal wasn't only a stunning strike but earnt the club their first win of the season, and eased the pressure that was slowly building up on Phil Parkinson. The striker had only arrived from Carlisle United five days earlier but this stunning strike certainly made an impact, and announced to the travelling City fans that Michael Bridges was here.

In third place came last week`s goal by Michael Turner who headed in a ninetieth minute equaliser for Phil Parkinson's men. With Peter Taylor's men looking to hold onto their advantage, Yeates' corner found Turner who bundled the ball in from close range to earn a point that saw City move off the foot of the table.
