Biography

Danny Coles is a recent addition to the Tigers squad. He was signed from Bristol City in June 2005 for 200,000 to help bolster the defence to provide Championship survival.

Danny played for his local team Bristol City after rising through the youth ranks at the club, turning professional in June 2000.

He played 180 games for the club, his first in the LDV game against Plymouth Argyle in 2000.

He was a highly touted centre back and had a growing reputation when he moved to the KC. He was an important figure in the Bristol City team, and had helped guide the club to the play-offs in 2003 and 2004.

He was also part of the LDV winning team of 2003 - playing in the final against a Carlisle United team that featured City player Stuart Green.

He was named Bristol City's young player of the year in 2002/03. He attracted major interest and was reportedly the subject of a half a million pound bid from Cardiff City that was rejected in 2003.

He extended his contract, but as it appeared Bristol City weren't getting promoted, he was made available for transfer in February of last year.

Danny has played a right-back and centre-back for the club so far, but has been hampered by an injury which he isn't due to return from until the end of the month.

Danny has a contract with the club for two years, with an option of a third year.
